For those that like to do there own research on “green” products and building methods, there is a great forum online - Green Building Talk. There are many educated builders and consumers posting daily on all sorts of topics from SIPs and ICFs to radiant and solar systems. I find myself searching through these forums often when I am looking for a unique method that may have been proven or disproven by someone in the know.
They have also just started a Blog which already contains a lot of good content. We have added it to our blogroll in the right column. Check it out today.

“Build It Green” is Formed as One of Philadelphia’s Only Custom Green Builders
An established construction company and a green real estate developer team up to form “Build It Green” - a custom builder specializing in energy efficient and green building practices in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia, PA May 2, 2008 — A new custom green builder in Philadelphia, Build It Green, was formed by a construction management company and a local green real estate developer. The building company, Level 5 Construction, and the developer, Postgreen, have teamed up to form one of the only custom builders in the city of Philadelphia that specialize in energy efficient and green building practices.
The new company, Build It Green, was formed because both parties saw a market need for a green builder specializing in sustainable construction techniques and both companies were passionate about furthering the green building movement in Philadelphia. “Finding a qualified, local builder who knows the products methods and paperwork involved in building green is one of the biggest hurdles people face when trying to build green,” said Scott Yohe, President of Build It Green. “By forming a new construction company that is both open to green building and skilled in reducing the costs of green buildings, we feel that we can eliminate one of the biggest barriers to building green in Philadelphia,” continued Scott.
Prior to starting their new venture together, the partners in Build It Green embarked on one of the most ambitious custom green home building projects in the country, the 100K House. The goal of the project is to build two homes that will be the most affordable LEED Platinum homes ever built. “We are excited to leverage our existing knowledge and the lessons learned from the 100K House project to help other developers afford to build green where they never thought it would be possible,” stated Chad Ludeman, Vice President of Build It Green.
Build It Green will specialize in custom homes and commercial buildings for individuals, developers and investors. Their green building expertise includes but is not limited to Energy Star Certification, LEED Certification, Green Globes Certification, Passive House Standard, ANSI National Green Building Standard and Zero Energy Buildings
